I don’t know much about Alpha Max, but I have seen a number of figures they’ve done around the internets. Most of the figures, if not all, contain some nudity so this figure seems their cup of tea. Makeplus is the sculptor behind this figure, I’ve seen pictures of their garage kit floating around on the internet and hoped someone would pick it off and produce it. The limited information I’ve found claims that this item will be cold cast, ¥14,490 / $173 CAD, 1/7th scale and will be released in October 2009.
Having just watched the preview of Fight Ippatsu!! Jyuden-chan! I have to say, it might just be the over the top Magical Girl Transformation Sequence I’ve ever seen. The preview is 1 minute and 29 seconds long, ~60 seconds of which is Plug’s transformation sequence. The remaining 29 seconds is tight plugsuit fanservice and more jiggling breasts. Pretty much the whole preview contained scenes one might associate more with hentai than broadcast TV. Lots of nudity, breasts, jiggling breasts, crotch shots, what appear to be fluids. The only thing missing to make it truely out of hentai is actual sex.
The preview seemed to lack information about the series story, in fact one might think there might not be one. The only thing learned is that the series appears to be near porn. Which I’m quite fine with, so long as it does have some story, unlike for example, Kanokon, which I disliked emmesely aside from delicious cake. However I think there’ll be enough story to keep me going, I have faith in Ditama Bow. His previous works include Mahoromatic and more recently KissxSis, another nearly porn. I hear you pointing out that KissxSis has no story either, but I counter with, it has more direction than Kanokon did.
And so I look forward to Fight Ippatsu!! Jyuden-chan!

Some good and bad news in this post. The bad, a delayed order that shouldn’t be delayed. The good, another figure on order!
It seems as though I keep hitting the “Buy This” button, I almost bought more too but on occassion I do have some self-control. These are the most recent pre-orders and purchases, they along with my other orders can be viewed on my Figure Page. Not all of these were ordered at the same time, they are just my last 5 orders.
With the race starting shortly I thought I’d talk a little about some of the cars I’ll be watching most during the race. I’m not sure how much of the 24 hours I’ll get to watch due to the length of the race, the amount of coverage available, and family. But as always I’ll try and get in as many hours as I can.
I’ve been slacking, I know. Every time I think I should write a post I end up being too lazy due to work or other things, and today is no different really. So instead of a review, I’m just going to point out a figure I noticed and want over on AmiAmi. I don’t really know much about the figure, or the series, all that I know is that I thought she was cute. I also thought that cord wasn’t her tail and was going somewhere else…
Lately there has been a lot of really nice mail-order and store exclusive anime figures coming out. Some examples might be Aisaka Taiga from ToraDora! She’s only available as a mail-order exclusive from Dengeki Daioh. Another example which has already been mentioned here is Horo from Spice and Wolf. Volks is producing an exclusive Horo figure for their store and will not ship her internationally.
These and others have caused me to go in search of ways around the exclusivity of these figures and get my hands on them.
Tomorrow, May 25th, is Towel Day. On this day you are asked to proudly carry your towel with you to celebrate the life and works of Douglas Adams. Why a towel you ask? Only because it is the most “massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have” and surely you wish to be thought of as “a hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is.” If this isn’t making any sense to you, I highly recommend you read the book ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” written of course by the man himself, Douglas Adams.

Yesterday Quazacolt informed me there was a new Horo figure out but quickly left without giving more information. So I set out in search of whatever Horo figure he was talking about. Much time passed and I’d still not found it. I started thinking perhaps he meant that the second season of Spice and Wolf had be dated for release in July, but I already knew that at the start of May. Eventually I went to sleep having not found whatever it was he was talking about and rather disappointed.
I awoke hours later and continued the search. Finally I found the figure he was talking about, by Volks. A manufacturer I’m not familiar with at the moment. But hopefully soon there’ll be more information available. For now, this page on Tsuki-Board is all I have to go on.
Update: Apparently this is a Volks exclusive, which means it will be very hard to get ones hands on, or very expensive. How unfortunate, but I will try regardless.
