It feels like it’s been a year since I wrote a post, as if it must be 2010 already, but surely I jest, right? Is it really the end of another decade? Well damn, so it is. Happy New Year to everyone then! Another year another batch of figures to collect! (Or should I have made my new years resolution “stop ‘wasting’ money on anime figures”?)
Today we’ll be discussing an older figure, a figure from the year two thousand and eight, ah, I remember it like it was yesterday. Actually that’s a lie, I have no idea what happened in two thousand and eight. Anyway, Ayanami Rei here is a slightly older figure that has been previously reviewed by many other people already, but that’s ok, I’m going to do one anyway!
Seena Kanon here is from the Shining Wind series illustrated by well known artist Tony Taka. I can't say I know too much about this series or character but Tony's artwork always gets top grade.
Read More »There’ll be no review this week and likely no posts beyond this due to Work, Christmas and Birthdays. But I’ll leave you with a hint of what’s to come. Ok, maybe that’s not so much a hint as a dead give away, whatever!
Enjoy the holidays!

The final installment of my 3 part series I like to call Kotobukiya’s Rebuild of Evangelion series. Today we have Shikinami Asuka Langley up for review, a re-imagined version of Soryu Asuka Langley with less bitch and more dere. By no means the perfect mix of tsun and dere like Horo, but a very good attempt, I enjoyed her in Evangelion 2.0.
I previously reviewed both Ayanami Rei and Katsuragi Misato as well.
Today we have Katsuragi Misato from Kotobukiya’s Rebuild of Evangelion series of figures. Previously I reviewed their Ayanami Rei and Friday I will review their Shikinami Asuka Langley. Misato stands out from Asuka and Rei because she has far far less figures made in her image. In the past 14 years since the series’ debut Rei and Asuka have accumulated over 287 figures between them (not including garage kits!), Misato only 16, and of course not all of those 16 are well produced. Kotobukiya’s thankfully is, but how well?
I was ready to pre-order this one as soon as I'd seen the prototype shots. Unfortunately it's produced by my least liked yet ever popular figure producer Kotobukiya (no TAKI, everyone hates them). I look forward to seeing her in person, hopefully she lives up to Kotobukiya's other 1/6th scale figures.
Read More »Last week I decided to do a review of an entire set of figures over the course of the week. I liked the idea a lot, and while a good deal of work I’ve decided to do it again this week with Kotobukiya’s Rebuild of Evangelion series of figures, starting off with Ayanami Rei and ending with my favourite, Shikinami Asuka Langley. That means Misato will be sandwiched between these two ladies, yum.
Ayanami Rei’s always been a bit of a hit or miss character with me. I love her, I hate her, I think it all depends on the phases of the moon and the position of the stars or something, because it’s not entirely explainable. My previous post on Sunday has two Rei figures in it, almost had 3. So with that in mind lets get on with the review.
Today we have the final installment of Max Factory’s Shining Wind Sexy Girls in Bikinis. What’s that you say? There’s four figures, not three? This is true, very true. I however do not own Ryuna as her price seems to be considerably higher than the other 3 in the set. I’m not entirely sure why though, perhaps she was a popular character in the game? Anyway, today I present you with Elwing, a sexy elf girl.
I was on the fence with this figure quite a bit, I'm not a fan of Index but the figure looked so well done. Eventually I caved after many others had decided I should purchase her haha.
Read More »Impulse purchase. I think I'll blame Rico at PolyVinyl Crush for this as I do many of my purchases. She seems cute enough in the promo shots, though I don't like her shoes (?) and she's produced by Kotobukiya so... potential for fail.
